Who doesn't hate change?? I wish life could be like what it was in school forever- carefree, stress free, duty free. But unfortunately nothing is designed that way. Nothing is designed to be permanent. And least of all life. I've met a lot of people who want a life that brings them something new everyday, who don't want any permanency and who want to be on the move all the time. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) i'm not one of them. Maybe that's why moving to Mumbai was so hard. Leaving my amazing life back in Bangalore is something i still question. But then there's this dam thing called 'future' and an even more silly thing called 'success' which when put together make you do crazy things like 'move to Mumbai and study at Xaviers'. Crazy because life's been a roller coaster ever since i moved here 2 months 15 days back.
From moving into a PG with 6 other girls (same room btw : / ) to losing my wallet in the first week (yes EVERYTHING from money to cards to photographs) to attending classes from 10 in the morning to 830 in the evening (its about 10 hours over my average attention span). Not to forget Mumbai rains which btw know exactly when u need to leave home for college and leave college for home cause they are at their heaviest best only when you need to be walking on the road :(.
Yeah change wasn't easy but today two and a half months later i feel i can survive the next 7 months. Cause beyond the miseries there's well marine drive, bade miyans, XIC, dancing till 2 in the morning etc, which definitely have the potential to make up for the flaws.
Speaking to some non Mumbaikars who have lived here for a while i always get the same funda "you live here for a while and trust me you will not want to leave the place". As of now i hardly feel that's possible. But yes im hopeful. Hopeful that i'm the rule and not the exception.
